Fundación Cáncer (FUCA) and ISSUE dye October pink

FUCA AND ISSUE DYE OCTOBER PINK DURING THE BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

(10/10/19). As part of the international breast cancer awareness month, Issue and FUCA (Foundation for Research, Training and Prevention of Cancer) put together two special events that allow men and women to join millions of people around the world in this campaign.

For the fifth consecutive year, the brand invites everyone to join the "Let's Dye October Pink" campaign, a color that symbolizes breast cancer awareness around the world.

For that reason, next Thursday, October 17, from 10 am to 6 pm, in the auditorium of the Alexander Fleming Institute, FUCA headquarters - Cramer 1180, 2nd Floor, City of Buenos Aires - and completely free of charge, Issue stylists will dye locks of hair pink and, in this way, will turn each visitor into an ambassador of this great slogan.

"Every October, Issue's bond with our consumers and all women is strengthened, as hair takes on a special role and becomes a way of raising awareness about the early detection of breast cancer," said Carolina Rey Blanco, Marketing Director of Godrej Argentina.

According to Carolina, the aim is to create a channel of communication and transformation, helping to convey the message as a reminder of the importance of having annual check-ups. "We want the message to be positive, understanding the unique connection we women have with our hair and how it transmits everything that happens to us.  Our message, based on what we do best, which is taking care of our hair is codified in breast cancer awareness month as 'the most beautiful hair is the one that wins the battle against cancer' and we invite everyone to join in by dyeing a lock of hair at home with the help of Issue Crazy Colors or by coming to FUCA on October 17", she added.

The second day of the campaign will take place on Saturday, October 19, from 11 am to 7 pm, at Bosques de Palermo. There, all those who are directly or indirectly related to this disease, those who have overcome it or who simply want to know and learn more about it, will be invited to participate in activities, talks and experiences and enjoy a day full of emotions to boost awareness.

Issue will have a stand where women who have overcome the disease will meet and talk with all those who wish to attend.

"In Argentina, breast cancer is the most common cancer in terms of occurrence, with more than 21,500 cases per year and accounts for 17% of all malignant tumors, almost a third of female cancers and the one for which more appointments are attended each year. It affects 1 in 8 women, but can be treatable in 90% of cases, if detected in time," said María Gabriela Berta, FUCA's Executive Director. "For us it is very rewarding to have Issue for the fifth consecutive year, to continue reinforcing the importance of prevention and awareness about breast cancer and the need to have annual check-ups. Joining forces is extremely important for us, and even more so when society joins in with the simple intention of helping us to transmit such a transcendental message", added the executive.

As every year, and as a way of closing the campaign, Issue will make a contribution which, on this occasion, will be destined to new equipment for FUCA's Oncology Research Center.
